-Philosophy Statement-
|
As Lutheran Christians of the Wisconsin Evangelical
Lutheran Synod, we
believe that our Triune God creates and preserves all things, saves
people
through his Son, Jesus Christ, and sanctifies all believers through his
infallible and holy Word. We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the
foundation
for Christian living in the world. Since all people are sinful, they
need
to know how to be saved by learning about their Savior. God has
commanded
that his children preach and teach his Word to all people to bring them
to the knowledge of their Savior and preserve them in the true faith.
|
-Purpose of Bethany Lutheran School-
|
The Christian education of children is first and
foremost the
responsibility
of Christian parents as stated in Ephesians 6:4, "Fathers, bring them
up
in the training and instruction of the Lord." God has placed this
responsibility
on all parents. The Church and its agencies also have an obligation
from
God to provide Christian educational opportunities. Bethany Evangelical
Lutheran Church established a Christian elementary school for the
purpose
of assisting the parents in their God-given responsibility. Through
daily
contact with the Word of God at school, the children receive the
spiritual
training they need to know their Savior. This training of the spirit,
mind,
and body makes for a complete education of the child.
|
The goal of Bethany Lutheran School is to be
distinctive in its
education
concerning the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of the child. It
is
important to note that Bethany Lutheran School exists to assist the
parents
with the Christian training of their children and never to remove this
primary responsibility from the parents. It is for this reason that the
school is operated by the members of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran
Church through their
Board
of Education, principal, and called teachers.
