When illegal drugs, alcohol, or smoking materials (matches, lighters, etc.) are found in a student's possession at school, action will be taken as follows:

1. *The parents will be notified immediately.
2. *The Manitowoc Police liaison officer will be called.
3. *The Board of Education will be notified of the incident.
4. For the first offense the student(s) will be suspended from participating in and attending all extra curricular activities at Bethany Lutheran School for four weeks.
5. For the second offense excludes the student(s) from participating in and attending all extra curricular activities connected to Bethany Lutheran School for the remainder of the year. The student(s) may be suspended from attending school as determined by the Board.
6. Additional offenses will result in suspension or expulsion from school according to the Board's discretion.

                *These steps will be followed in each case.
