Field Trips

Field trips are taken during the course of the school year by every class. Field trips are to be educational in nature and should be in keeping with our Christian values; however, educational trips may be combined with fun activities. (The eighth grade class trip is exempt from the educational nature of field trips.) Costs of field trips will be kept at a reasonable level whenever possible. Since field trips are official school activities, teachers retain full responsibility for any and all arrangements. Transportation will be arranged through the bus company. Parents will not be asked to drive due to insurance restrictions. Written permission from parents for students going on the field trip will always be obtained. Out-of-town trips also require medical information from parents. These medical information forms, which provide emergency information, will accompany the teacher while on the trip.
Teachers may occasionally take their class off school grounds during the day for science or athletic activities. These trips would only take place in the immediate neighborhood. Parents sign a general permission form allowing teachers to take students off school grounds for these activities. This form is found in the registration packet.
