Illness
If your child will
be absent from school due to illness, please call the school office to
notify the teacher.
It is important for parents to understand that they
should not send a child who is sick to school. If a child has a fever
or has been vomiting through the night, they should remain home. When
children attend school, they should be well enough to participate in
all activities as well as go outside for recess.
If a teacher determines that a child has a fever or
is not able to participate in the regular classroom activities, the
parents will be called to take their child home for the day. If a
parent cannot be reached, then the emergency contact person listed on
the family information sheet will be called.
Children who are absent for the school day should
not participate in school activities that afternoon or evening. If a
child is sick on Friday and feels better on Saturday, the child may
participate in Saturday and Sunday activities.
