Athletic
Eligibility
Those students who
participate in interscholastic activities represent their Savior in all
that they do. Since Bethany Lutheran School strives to assist the
students to make the best use of their God-given talents and abilities,
a program of athletic eligibility has been established. The athletic
eligibility has been divided into two areas: Academic and Conduct.
Academic
Eligibility: If a student acquires two D’s, one F, or does not
function up to their level of ability in the classroom, the student
becomes ineligible for interscholastic and intramural activities for a
period of at least two weeks. This determination would be made at
midterm and quarter marking periods. Special needs and abilities of the
students will be taken into consideration.
Conduct Eligibility: Any conduct not suitable for a Christian
would make a student ineligible for interscholastic sports. Regular
church attendance is part a Christian's life. Lack of regular church
attendance can cause a student to become ineligible for participation
in athletics. All disciplinary actions will be handled by the coaches,
administration, and the Board of Education.
